On the Use of Benchmarking

Speaking at the 61st ACI AFRICA Regional Conference & Exhibition in Luxor, Egypt on March 6, 2019 and citing high-tech advances that have permitted Africa to leapfrog traditional technology such as landlines in favor of skyrocketing and widespread use of mobile phones, as well as the rapid rise in the use of digital currency in commerce, banking and daily life across the continent,  Miguel Southwell, President and CEO of Atlanta-based Brakkam Aviation Management cautions airport, government and air transport officials in the Africa region, “Benchmarking is not a destination or a goal to be attained, but rather a marker to soar pass”. In 2018, the Africa region was the fastest growing air passenger market.
